The Nobleman tries to buy his fate.

The theme for this screenshot jam is "The Prophecy" and I've chosen the flow of water as my central idea.

The scene takes place at the temple which is situated at the heart of an ancient cistern. The Oracle (seated center) reads the flow of water to reveal the fate of those who consult her. To have a prophecy reading one must bring a measure of water from their homeland along with an offering.

The water is poured from above the oracle and she reads the flow. The oracular scribe (center left, with the book) stands with the oracle as she speaks and transcribes the revelation. The water from the revelation is then added to the pool of the Argent Timber (behind the Oracle). Sisters of the Cistern stand witness (in the background). 

The Argent Timber is an ancient tree with silver limbs that grow golden leaves, water from all the lands nourish the tree and its health is a forbearer of prosperity or destruction. 

A Nobleman has brought a barrel of water from his homeland along with a grand amount of gold, in hopes that his fate will be favorable (it wasn't favorable).
